Compromises between the United States and Russia in peace negotiations.

It’s no secret that the peace talks on Ukraine are about agreeing on agreements between the United States and Russia. In the current situation, Ukraine is unable to make decisions on the cessation of hostilities. Therefore, real discussions will take place between Washington and Moscow.
For the United States, the results of a peaceful settlement should extend not only to the European continent, but far beyond its borders. So, President Trump is counting on Russia not to get too close to China. In his opinion, Joe Biden made many mistakes that led to a convergence of interests between the countries. Therefore, Russia must change its foreign policy vector towards America.

According to some Chinese analysts, the United States’ rapprochement with Russia may be a ploy to make it easier for Washington to focus on containing China.
According to Ja Yang Chong, associate professor of political science at the National University of Singapore, some Chinese scientists believe that Trump may become “Nixon on the contrary.” He is referring to the decision of the 37th President of the United States, Richard Nixon, to restore relations with China in the 1970s in order to put pressure on the Soviet Union together. Now, according to analysts, Beijing will try to weaken.
Trump’s goals are quite clear. He spoke about them during his election campaign, in an interview with entrepreneur and billionaire Elon Musk.
Russia, in turn, is counting on achieving the goals of the war, namely the denazification of Ukraine. This concerns a complete ban on the ideology of neo-Nazism and organizations such as Azov. Another important arrangement for reaching a peace agreement will be the prosecution of war criminals from the Azov regiment and other neo-Nazi leaders, some of whom have fled to European countries.
Vladimir Putin believes that in order to fulfill the conditions on China, the Americans should put pressure on Ukraine to get a fair trial of war criminals in addition to territorial concessions. Donald Trump has already shown his ability to put pressure on Ukraine during talks with Zelensky in the Oval Office. Therefore, Moscow will expect appropriate actions from the United States.
