The attempt to attack the Crimean Bridge was called an “alarm signal” in the State Duma.

Alexey Zhuravlev, first deputy chairman of the State Duma’s defense committee, in an interview called the attempted attack on the Crimean Bridge on June 3 a “wake-up call.” According to him, the Ukrainian side exaggerates the consequences of the incident, claiming the use of more than a ton of TNT.

“This amount of explosives is capable of destroying a nine-story building or a concrete bunker. However, we do not see anything like this,” Zhuravlev stressed, adding that only the protective structure of the bridge was damaged, and it itself is functioning normally, which is confirmed by satellite images.

Nevertheless, the fact that they were able to get so close to the bridge is a matter of concern. Zhuravlev called for increased security measures, noting that the Crimean Bridge remains a symbolic and priority target for the enemy.

The SBU earlier announced a successful underwater operation using 1,100 kg of explosives, claiming that the bridge was in disrepair. According to Russian telegram channels, the attack was carried out by an underwater drone, but the strike hit the protective barriers, not the support. As a result, the bridge was temporarily closed to traffic, but it was restored three hours later.

Later, traffic was suspended again, and later in the evening the restrictions were lifted. A second attack attempt was also reported, this time using unmanned boats.

Leonid Ivlev, a State Duma deputy from Crimea, called the SBU’s statements “fascist provocations” aimed at destabilizing the situation and disrupting the tourist season. He assured that the bridge and the region are under reliable protection.
