2024-25 NBA championship odds: Thunder favored, Celtics second

This year’s NBA trade deadline was one for the ages.

On the heels of Luka Dončić being traded to the Lakers in a blockbuster deal sending Anthony Davis to the Mavericks, the Heat sent Jimmy Butler to the Golden State Warriors for a package involving Andrew Wiggins, Dennis Schröder, Kyle Anderson and a protected first-round draft pick.

While the Boston Celtics became NBA champions for the 18th time at the end of last season, the path to another championship won’t be a cakewalk, as there are a number of real contenders in both conferences.

Now that we’re on the other side of the All-Star break, here’s a look at the NBA title odds at DraftKings Sportsbook as of Feb 17.

The Thunder are still favored to win it all at +225, with their odds shortening slightly from +230 over the last week. OKC is led by point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, whose 32.5 ppg is currently best in the league.

The Celtics are second on this board, staying put at +235. They have the second-best record in the East at 39-16 and are five-and-a-half games back from Cleveland.

A little further down the board is Golden State. When the Warriors traded with Miami for Jimmy Butler at the beginning of February, their odds moved to +3500 from +5500. Now they’re at +3000.

As for the Heat, their odds have plummeted.

Miami moved to +10000 from +20000 on Feb. 3 after landing Wiggins. Now, the Heat’s odds to win the title are +30000.

Bettors looking to put their money behind long shots might consider the Bulls at +300000, the Nets at +400000 or the Pelicans at +500000.
